Putia Pure Food Kitchen, a Mediterranean restaurant in Brisbane, is a unique example of a successful gastronomic business in a residential and industrial district of the city.
Known for its excellent service and diverse range of healthy and gluten-free meals for everyone, the owners of Putia wanted to enhance their visibility in the local area and attract more customers by exploring new possibilities in business development.
As a crucial starting point, I conducted a comprehensive analysis of the current business situation, website analytics, social media profiles and Putia’s competitors to provide clear and effective advice on how to improve restaurant’s visibility both online and offline.

The story
After meeting with the owners of Putia and conducting an interview, I explored their issues and obstacles, understood their goals and priorities, and identified their strengths and weaknesses. The competitor analysis highlighted what Putia has to offer differently and what initiatives could attract more visitors to the restaurant.
While the owners were busy managing various business processes, I worked independently on this project, with their full trust.
Through my comprehensive analysis I found that restaurant’s online positioning didn’t always align with customer reviews, as Putia’s messaging was sometimes unclear. We fixed that by making the brand’s communication with the audience as transparent as possible.
As part of my work, I thoroughly audited the restaurant’s website and suggested implementing minor yet valuable changes that affected not only visual perception but also website usability.
My recommendations for working with Google Business Profile and social media profiles led to significant improvements, attracting new customers. Also, I identified and suggested to focus on local audience – families, elderly patrons, and industrial workers – it helped restaurant’s marketing efforts create content and address its audience effectively and efficiently.
The reward
The website audit revealed technical issues that I suggested fixing, along with UX improvements to make the website more user-friendly and engaging. I suggested completing SEO optimisation by implementing relevant keywords to improve website visibility through search engines. The organic traffic increased by 56% in one year with not much effort, and search terms finally aligned with the business values and offers, eliminating irrelevant keywords.
A major improvement was implemented to Google Business Profile as the restaurant’s main marketing channel for local community. I advised on optimising GBP by adding visuals, incorporating local SEO, updating it regularly and answering customer questions.
The nearby train station underwent renovations, which could have decreased visitor numbers. But thanks to increasing the restaurant’s online presence, improving its visibility and connecting directly with the local community, they managed to keep things steady during the train station’s renovation.
Through our collaboration, the owners discovered new communication channels and employed strategies that helped them enhance Putia’s online presence based on my advice. I believe this is just the beginning for this place, and major changes are yet to come.
