Raw Built Construction, a family-run building company based on the Gold Coast, specialises in new home builds, apartment renovations and house extensions.
When Kirill and his wife Alena reached out to me, they had a well-designed website for a tradie – but it wasn’t bringing in traffic or enquiries. The site looked great, but it had serious technical issues, wasn’t ranking in Google and wasn’t doing anything to support their growing business. On top of that, they were getting flooded with spam emails – sometimes over 100 a day. The story
From the first call, I could tell that Alena and Kirill were ready for a big change. Their website had no SEO, no structure and technical problems that made it hard to trust. After our initial chat, I got to work with a full audit of the site, competitor research and keyword planning. We focused on three main service pages: new home builds, house extensions & renovations, and apartment renovations – the main pillars of their business.
We had a strong working relationship from the beginning. They gave quick feedback, trusted my expertise and stayed involved without needing to micromanage. Because they didn’t have any existing brand guidelines (just a logo), our designer created a fresh look from scratch in Figma. We kept colours similar to their old website, as they liked the tone, but we brought everything together into a clean and professional style.
We designed each page with intention – nothing was rushed. Every page went through edits and approval. We created copy and content for the website from scratch, making sure it reflected their tone of voice and built trust with potential clients. For visuals, I recommended using only real photos of Kirill’s work instead of stock images. This proved to be a great decision, lending the site authenticity and showcasing the quality of their projects, perfectly aligning with their desired coastal design aesthetic.
Once the content and design were signed off, we moved to development. At the same time, we tackled the technical hosting issues that had been causing spam and slowdowns. Our website developer spent hours with the client sorting out hosting, email setup and performance. That effort paid off – no more spam, and everything runs smoothly now.
To help them move forward after launch, I gave a full 1-hour handover session, where I showed them how to use Google Analytics, how to update their content and how to grow their online presence with Google Business Profile.
The reward
A modern, yet classic website that works beautifully on all devices, reads easily and drives real results was created. Within the first few weeks, Raw Built Construction started getting calls from people who found them through search. Their site now ranks for important keywords, and traffic is coming in from people looking for exactly what they offer.
The impact showed up quickly. In just three months, their website clicks went up by 135%, and the number of people seeing their site in search results more than doubled. They started ranking for key search terms they’ve wanted and an average position in Google improved by 17 spots. All of this means more of the right people are finding them online.
